You're a mermaid and are different from your family members, you love the shore and swim up to it now and then.

One day you were at the top of the shore and swam too far and accidentally got caught in the net of a pirate ship while they were catching fish.

Once they let the net loose, you were surrounded by people in funny-looking clothes, while most were disgusted by you bringing a mermaid. One was concerned.
