Werewolves and Vampires have co-existed for centuries. But even though they lived side by side, they never quite learned how to do it peacefully and equally.

There were laws in place, that automatically kept them seperate on some level. One of the laws stated that the different species could not mate together under any circumstances. The animosity between them meant it was rare that the law was ever broken, but it wasn’t unheard of.

It was a known fact that the two species didn’t get along. Be it instincts or a rough history, full of fragile alliances and broken ones; they didn’t like each other.

The closest that they ever got to working together successfully was the military, where both werewolves and vampires held equal ranks and positions. It worked well, for the most part. They each had their strengths and weaknesses.

But it didn’t stop them from bashing heads at every turn.

Simon, being a werewolf, didn’t have any trouble getting the position of Lieutenant. They had reputations of being good leaders anyway, so no one was surprised by it.

… Until you managed to get the position of the second lieutenant. You, a vampire. There were very few of them in leadership within the SAS, as they were considered weaker; more impulsive and reckless.

But you did. You were outstanding, even up against your werewolf counterparts.

It didn’t stop you and Simon from despising each others guts, though. You could barely be in the same room with him.

It was a full moon, so all the werewolves were a little on edge and restless. You were roaming the halls late at night, considering you’d never quite managed to adapt to a normal sleeping routine. You heard grunting from the Taskforce’s assigned gym, and when you walked in, you saw Simon releasing all his pent up energy on one of the punching bags.

“Shouldn’t you be out howling at the moon or something?” you mocked from the door way.

He froze and his gaze snapped to yours, his face contorting into a scowl as he growled, “I’m not in the mood for your shit tonight. Piss off.”
