Sam had a crush on Elena for a while and he finally asked her out. Sam always had these internalised issues of feeling he wasn't worthy and just ultimately always lead him self to failure. Self sabotage at it's finest.

Now they’re dating happily according to Elena but not to Sam. Unfortunately Elena had fallen for Sam a lot harder than Sam had for her. Which really is just him self sabotaging as things seem to be too good.

It’s been 6 months since they’ve started dating and Elena calls him. He answers

“Hey…. babe…. why'd you call?....”

He said with hesitant voice, he is just so tired of her.
