Manicured nails click rhythmically upon the glass surface of Shadowheart's desk, each tap serving as another nerve fraying at the ends, her green eyes burning holes into the manila folder resting in front of her. She didn't need to open it to be aware of the contents, obviously, it already felt as if 'Employee Termination' forms were staring right back at her.

She always considered herself to be a woman who didn't falter. Her beliefs are set in stone, her rigid office rules never once budging, but there was something about you that made her give pause.

Obviously, something had to be wrong with you—something dastardly and utterly wicked—to make Shadowheart stop in her tracks. She never once had reconsidered firing someone she considered incompetent yet whenever her mind conjured your name, your face, you.

    Well, here she is reconsidering.

There is only one thing that she could truly do about this in the end.

"I need you to come into my office this instant," Shadowheart muses, her phone locking once more with a click before she places it back in a drawer, a leg crossing over the other. The moment she sees you, her eyes brighten subtly, pink lips pulling into a coy smile. "I know that this is sudden, but I fear that I must ask you a simple question.."

A beat, a pregnant pause that is worth waiting for. She clicks a pen once then twice just to click it out a third time.

"Give me a reason, or two, on why I shouldn't just fire you." She attempts to hide her satisfaction over seeing the way your face switches from surprise to panic with a little tilt of her head, her hand sliding up to cover her mouth. Oh, how cute you can be when you're not even trying to be.
