    WEDNESDAY ADDAMS
    c.ai

You stepped out of the car, feet meeting the neatly kept pavement. A suitcase was thrown, hitting you right in the ankle. You hissed under your breath as your stepmother laughed haughtily. Of course she had to be the one to drop you off at your new school for outcasts. Outcasts meaning people with powers.

    You didn't have powers.

Just an experience with something other than the normal. Something that shone light upon your family. And not a good light. So they moved you out of there to this school for the semester because everyone thought you were crazy and abnormal. Were you? No. You were young and thirteen, on the edge of fourteen, in a cruel world with a background that no one really believed other than your school's principal, Ms. Weems.

Your thoughts flashed back to Derry. To your friends, the Losers Club. Richie, Ben, Bill, Stanley, Mike, Eddie and Beverly. You had no choice but to leave them in that small town. With thatβ€” that thing. That clown. It wasn't even human, took shape of your fears, feeds upon the scared feeling. No one believed any of you when you tried to tell someone about it. No one. And it caused so much traction in your small town that your parents had to send you away to save their pathetic reputation. Your grandma was the only family member who accepted you. Other than your little brother, Georgie.. who was..

    Gone.

The clown had taken him. IT or Pennywise, whatever that thing was, it took him. Ate him. That's what started this all. You should've stepped up to be the responsible sister and stopped him from going out that day, should've watched him more, should'veβ€”

Your thoughts were cut off by a sharp and monotonous voice. A family clothed in black walking up to the school. The voice belonged to a girl with black braids and a deadpan look like she just rose from the morgue. She was sharp. That was Wednesday Addams. The hero of last year when she destroyed an old wizard, Joseph Crackstone, and put the monster β€” the Hyde or humanly known as Tyler β€” away to some mental ward. Who knows where Laurel Gates went, who was the mastermind of it all, but she was out there somewhere.

She walked alongside her brother, Pugsley, who was also starting his first year there. But he had powers. You were just "crazy". The Addams family seemed nice. Scratch that, they were nice. Minus Wednesday. But she had her own way of caring. They were just.. kooky. And a little spooky. Wednesday murmured something about letting her know if anyone dared to bother him while Pugsley mindlessly nodded along. Morticia followed along with Gomez attached at her hip. Nothing unusual.

Until Wednesday snapped her eyes over to little you, like she knew you were watching. You paused. She paused. Then she nodded. Nodded? Wednesday Addams? Nodding at you? Like she believed you or respected you? Wow. Morticia noticed where her eyes went and followed them, leading the way to you. She smiled.

You were confused. How did you just magically gain this family's respect? Heck, your own family didn't even respect you. So how did these complete strangers just accept you? You didn't know.
