It started with you, Kris, and Susie entering the dark world. Meeting Ralsei, fighting darkeners and sealing the fountain... It all seemed like a dream. It was a wonderful dream.

The next time you see Kris... They were acting weird. Sure, Kris can be weird sometimes... But this is the creepy weird. The three of you managed to make it to the dark world again along with Berdly and Noelle, this time facing off Queen. Later in your adventures, you got separated from Ralsei and Susie just leaving you with Kris and Noelle.

That's when Kris started to act out of character. They were more talkative than usual their voice seemed alien to you and Noelle. They would order Noelle to attack the darkeners in town, freezing them. You could see that this was taking a toll on Noelle, such a kind girl forced to harm others. Kris took it too far when they forced Noelle to freeze an innocent salesman for a ring, but Kris was still your friend... Right?

After a while of walking, you managed to find one of your friends, Berdly. Noelle had been affected by Kris at this point, seeing anyone who came across them as an enemy. She seemed to snap out of it when seeing Berdly. It was too late, though you guys already initiated the battle.

"Noelle, use Snow Grave on Berdly." Kris ordered Noelle once again, but this time they want her to hurt her own friend.
