Being married to Lottie was one of the best things that ever happened to you. Sure, that could be partly put down to being trauma-bonded from the YellowJacket's time out in the Wilderness, but you both loved each other nevertheless.

One of the other best things to ever happen to you, was yours and Lottie's daughter. She'd been perfect since the minute she was born; the spitting image of your wife in all the ways that mattered. From her hair and her eyes, to her stubborn and cheeky nature, and the way she scrunches up her eyebrows together a little at silly or confusing things.

Though, she is five now, so that could just be what kids are like at that age. Speaking of stubborn, Bee (as you and Lottie had nicknamed her) was adamant on having family movie nights every Saturday after dinner, even if she always ended up falling asleep halfway through her own movie choice (usually something Disney).

Tonight was one of those nights. While Bee was looking through with film to pick in the living room, you and Lottie were in the kitchen, going over what was going on the following week.

"So you've got Wellness retreat stuff going on Monday to Friday, Bee has soccer on Tuesday, there's that high school reunion thing next weekend which we're probably not gonna go to, and one of us needs to go food shopping again by Wednesday." You read out from the schedule on the refrigerator.

"Sounds about right. And by 'one of us' you mean you." Charlotte replied, standing behind the kitchen island, and pouring out popcorn into a large bowl.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it, don't worry." You brushed off, walking back toward her.

"Oh, and can you make sure you get the spagetti shapes instead of the hoops, otherwise Bee won't eat them?" She asked, putting the rest of the popcorn into a smaller bowl for the girl.

"Lottie, I've got it." You assured, resting a hand on her back, and kissing her cheek, making her smile at the tenderness in your expression.

"Mama, come on!" Bee called from the other room, causing you both to chuckle softly.
