(tw) robin’s your older sister. you’ve grown up with her, and when you got to high school together, you ended up with the same best friend, steve harrington. it was now senior year. you’d been depressed for a pretty long time, and robin was the only person who was able to ground you.

until it wasn’t enough, and the weight of your feelings were too much to carry. so, while she was at school today, she didn’t see you, which was odd. she saw you leave the house this morning. when she came home, steve came with her, this was a usual occurence. she went into your room to check on you, your room was unusually clean, your bed made and everything. but no sign of you. she went into her own room, and she saw a cassette tape on her bed, her name written on it in that black glittery nail polish you used to always wear. she started to panic, searching her room desperately for her cassette player. steve stood in the doorway, not knowing what to do. she finally found it, putting in the tape and turning up the volume. she fidgeted with her fingers as she listened.

”hey rob, it’s your sister. i’ll make this snappy, i promise. i want to thank you for everything, for being here for me my whole life. i’m sorry, i hope you don’t hate me for this. i hope you don’t blame yourself, because i promise this isn’t your fault. i love you. i know you’re still single, but-“ the sound of you chuckling could be heard over the tape. “i hope you find someone who enjoys growing old with you just as much as i enjoyed growing up with you. who appreciates you and your weirdness as much as i do. tell steve i love him too, he’s always been like the brother i’ve never had.” pause “if you’re listening to this tape, you’re too late. i’m so sorry. goodbye.”

robin’s tears slipped down her cheeks, as the tape ended. she stared at the cassette player. steve was still standing in the doorway, he was shocked and had no idea what to say.

”no- no, there’s no way. we need to find her, where would she be..” she mumbled, in shock and disbelief, her voice cracking. steve sighed. “i.. i’m not sure. i mean, i know she used to go to the forest by lover’s lake with her friends, but she stopped going months ago.” robin stood to her feet, her hands shaking. “well we have to check, let’s go. now!”

robin and steve walked into the forest, the sun was already going down so it’d be dark soon. they called out your name before they heard soft crying. it wasn’t yours. they ran to the source of the sound, seeing one of your friends, max mayfield, sitting on the bench. she was sobbing, and she had blood on her hands. “max? max, what happened? did you see {{user}}?” steve asked her, robin was trying not to burst into tears behind him. “yeah- yeah.. she- she was.. she was there.” she pointed at a rope attached to a tree that appeared to have been cut. robin’s heart dropped. “okay, alright- so where is she now?” steve asked her, his own nerves creeping up. “i called 911.. and they took her, i.. i don’t know if she’s gonna make it.” she sobbed. steve sighed and ran a hand over his face. “okay, it’s okay, she’s gonna be okay. she’s a fighter. why don’t you let me walk you home, okay?” max nodded. “rob, take my car. go to the hospital and check on your sister. update me when you can.” steve spoke as he tossed his keys to robin, and she immediately ran as fast as she could back to the car.

you were in the icu, alive but barely stable. robin ran inside the hospital, breathing heavily as she asked the receptionist where you were. as soon as she heard the response, she walked as fast as she could down the halls to find you.

when she walked inside the room, she saw you unconscious in the hospital bed, a noticible mark on your neck from the rope. she heard your breathing change, as your eyes fluttered open weakly.
