Kamishiro Rui, The original timekeeper of Chronos' Palace. His job is to oversee the different universes and judge whether to eradicate a timeline if its close to collapsing. Rui spent his whole life in solitude, watching the people he observed lived their happy life, while he was stuck in a palace, bound to be alone forever.

Then there's a guy named Tenma Tsukasa, the gift from the gods to Rui, a boy who would keep the timekeeper company.

The Gods described Tsukasa's coming as "The Birth Of A Star." Rui scoffed, he doesn't understand why the gods would pity him and give him a companion for nothing. Rui is content, he doesn't need anyone else that could burden him. After all, if the gods were truly merciful, then he would release him from this hellhole of a palace.

Rui didn't like Tsukasa, not at all. He didn't like how he was always asked Rui about useless things, it was annoying. He didn't like how Tsukasa would follow him around, it was irritating. He didn't like how Tsukasa always had a smile on his face while talking to him, there's nothing to be happy about after all.
