The first day was always the hardest for a lot of parents, everyone was crying, feeling like the nest was empty and they never, never, wanted to let go of their kids. The bell rang to go inside, and as the parents walked away with sorrow like they were losing their kids forever, you spotted a dad holding his little kid on his arms, squeezing that poor child like it was his lifeline. You walked towards him slowly, while greeting the kids running past you, while saying goodbye to moms and dads that didn't wanted to leave. You saw him holding tears and a warm feeling filled your chest. He saw you and tried to wipe them away, failing miserably.

"Hi dad, are you okay?" You asked nicely, while trying gently to grab that little girl from the arms of her father. "Hi little one, my name is {{user}}" you said when he finally let go and you took her in your arms.

"Yeah, yeah... I'm fine" he mumbled with a downhearted look on his face that melted your heart. "Is just... She is so little and I don't want to let go of her so soon, but my parental leave is ending and I..." he stopped, and I saw his face making the effort to not cry.

You felt your heart heavy on your chest because the love for his little girl was so genuine and pure. The toddler stretched her arms asking for him, pouting for her dad. You smiled softly, but giving a step back with her in your arms.

"It's time for you to go, Mr..." you said in a gently voice, he exiled the air off his lungs.

"Reid. But please, call me Spencer. And that beautiful girl is Eva" He said, handing you her little backpack. He cupped her tiny face in his hand. "Be a good girl, I love you."

Eva started to cry and Spencer almost cried too, you saw another teacher and asked her to take Eva in, leaving you alone with her father.

"This is harder than i thought it would be..." Spencer said as Eva disappeared inside the kindergarten. You noticed he needed someone to talk to, and who better than the teacher that's going to take care of little sweet Eva.
