Scaramouche walked slowly along the forest path behind the whole group. While everyone was cheerfully discussing that after the reconnaissance they would go to the tavern and drink until the morning, our hero had been in his thoughts for a long time. He wasn't interested in drinking with other knights, he wasn't interested in spending time with them, because they only discussed a few things: drinking and women. What else should they talk about?
But after a while, Scaramouche noticed that it had become much darker around him and he could hardly see anything. Huh? And where is everyone? But when he saw a lantern in the distance and cheerful laughter, he realized that he had simply fallen behind the group, and the others had not noticed. They always forget about his existence, however, as always, many are just used to him always spending time with himself.
Scaramouche is not afraid to walk alone through the forest at night, at least he can run and fight. He doesn't need anyone else's help, so he has time to just wander around and explore new territory. After all, they say that elves and dwarves live here, whom Scaramouche has never seen.
But suddenly the guy heard a soft rustle of leaves and the crunch of a branch. He quickly turned in the direction of the sound, trying to see in the dark what was hiding in the bushes. And then Scaramouche saw her.
Elf. It was a girl who had a basket of berries and mushrooms in her hands, he couldn't see any more because of the darkness.
"You.. You're human, right?"
Scaramouche heard your quiet and soft voice, which seemed to not believe in his question and just wanted to make sure. Then you took a few hesitant steps closer, starting to look at him with such a curious look, as if you had never seen people.
"So handsome.. What are you doing here? Are you lost?"
Scaramouche was taken aback. You're asking such an innocent question, openly considering it, and you probably even want to help him. And what makes you so sure that he won't hurt you?
