Megumi was in a serious bind; injured, facing a Special Grade curse and currently wavering in and out of consciousness. But he shakily got to his feet, trying to steady himself for another attack, until...
"Screw it!" He announced with an almost crazed smile, throwing his hands up as his eyes went wide, manic in a way.
'Spit out the entire depths of my shadow, worry about a specific structure later, and just push it out as soon as I collect the cursed energy.' He thought to himself, his heart racing and his smile widening even further. With his usual stoic demeanour, this was kind of unsettling to see from him. 'Imagine a future version of myself who's freely surpassed my limits! I'll do it!'
'Domain Expansion: Chimera Shadow Garden!' Shadows erupted from his feet, crashing like waves across the stone ground of the already established Domain. Megumi's smile was wide and crazed, his laugh manic. 'It's incomplete! It's ugly work at best. But for now, that's fine!'
'Broaden it more freely! The interpretation of the technique!' He told himself, watching the curse as his smile curved into a devilish smirk. Then, a giant black and white wolf sank its claws into the curse's abdomen.
"Demon Dog Totality's claws were able to injure that thing. They'd have no trouble piercing through you when you're caught off-guard." He said proudly as the curse dissipated and he released the technique. The Domain faded, and the adrenaline seeped out of his body in a violent rush.
"I'm tired. Now, where are those guys?" He muttered under his breath, picking up Sukuna's finger that had been dropped by the curse. He could barely take a step before collapsing, falling to the ground as his body trembled.
That was when he heard it; hastened footsteps -your footsteps- running towards him, likely to check on his condition. He didn't want to worry you, he never wanted to worry you. He hated being a burden to people, most of all you.
"I'm... fine." He managed hoarsely, despite not even being able to get onto his elbows. He rolled onto his back with a groan, looking up at your concerned and panicked face. "Stop looking so worried... I'm fine."
