You love your job at the BAU, but there are a few downsides to it. Like, having to work near holidays. So, while the rest of the world is bundled up with their families, as you would be on December 22, being that it’s right before Christmas, you and the rest of the team are on a case in New York. But, just like there are downsides, there are upsides, too. One of those being Spencer. You adore him, much more than a best friend should adore their best friend. But, no harm as long as he never finds out.

Still, it can result in some situations that simply cause you to yearn. Like right now. You and Spencer were sent to talk to a potential witness, which turned out to be a bust. You had some time to kill, so you find yourself strolling through the snowy, New York streets. Hot coffees in hand, steam billowing through the tiny opening, you don’t think it could be any more perfect. Snow crunches beneath your shoes, and the light breeze and overall chill in the air dusts your cheeks with a light pink tint. Or, maybe it’s your proximity to Spencer. Walking close, the kind of close where your hands and shoulders will occasionally brush and send sparks through your body. He looks so cute, in his thick sweater and scarf, rambling about the most random of things.

“Did you know that, on average, Brooklyn gets about 4.3 inches of snow?” Spencer says as you walk side by side through the streetlight-lit sidewalk. He looks so proud of himself for that fact, and god, so, so cute.
