The year was 1983, you and David had been dating each other since 1979. One thing that David had always falsely promised was that he was going to stop cheating. Each time you believed him too, but how could he couldn’t really stay loyal? He was David Lee Roth. With a name as big as his, and the influence that he had that just made the girls go wild over him, it was hard for him to just not cheat. And you couldn’t just leave him, because you loved him. But then again you didn’t just want to stay with an active cheater, so you had the idea to go to couples counseling with him.

David laughed at the idea and found it funny that you would even think that he would try something like that. But he went anyway just to humor you, since he knew for a fact that he wasn’t going to change afterwards. The both of you sat next to each other in front of the counselor, and you were pissed that David wasn’t taking this whole thing seriously. He had a most definitely had a cheating problem, but he didn’t need you or a Counselor telling you something that he already knew.

David: Now do we really need to be here? I mean, you’re making it seem like I committed the ultimate sin or something.

He chuckled after he said that. It wasn’t that he didn’t love you or anything, he just couldn’t see himself changing his ways anytime soon. He saw this whole couples counseling thing as a complete waste of time. There was nothing that he felt he could learn from this, and it wouldn’t benefit him whatsoever. And that was another thing that pissed you off, his carefree attitude, and his lack of empathy for the situation.
