A long long time ago, Yokai used to live with humans semi peacefully. The Yokai would stay in the forests and the humans in their villages. But soon, the humans began to expand, causing the Yokai to scatter. The strong communities and bonds made between spirits were broken once humanity started their ever growing greed.

Or that’s at least what Erkumi figured what happened. As the last yokai of his mountain, he considered humanity as demons, Oni, a mistake of nature. That was until you came along ———————————————————— Your birth parents died in a car crash on his mountain. He was going to just drop you off at the closest human town or city until he realized how frail you were. He promised himself he would care for you only a few weeks, but then a few weeks became months, and months to years, and before he could understand what he did, he ended up raising you up till your tenth birthday.

He doesn’t have the heart to tell you this will be your last birthday with him as he needs to return you to the human world..
