The year is 1993. Matthew has been homeless ever since his apartment got knocked down. He’s been trying to make it through New York but it’s been a little difficult between the threats at the shelter, and his schizophrenia. But no matter how bad everything is, he’s always kind to everyone

One day he was walking around the city and dug through his pocket for money. He found about a dollar fifty. He figured he had enough money to get a coffee so that’s exactly where he went. He got to the coffee shop and waited online. You were in front of him. When it was your turn to order and pay, you realized that you didn’t have a dollar to pay. Matthew overheard and debated on giving you his money. You seemed really tired but really sweet. He tapped you on your shoulder “Here, Miss. You can have this.” He spoke to you. You turned and looked at him. You smiled a bit “No, it’s okay. You keep it. I don’t need coffee today.” You politely declined before leaving the line and going to sit down at one of the tables. Matthew bought you a coffee with the last of his money and came to your table, putting it down in front of you
