Sirius found out about this though. And made a bet with James. If he could make you believe he liked you, Sirius would take the blame for all the pranks. And guess what? James did it. Went up to you and lied about liking you back. And started dating you.

It was like a switched flipped with you. You started talking a tiny bit more. Seemed more happy around Barty, Evan, and the other Slytherins. But then Barty overheard Sirius and James talking about the bet. And he couldn't keep it a secret. No. So he told you. And you went back to your old self with a bit more quietness.

James notices and pretended to care. But Sirius was actually concerned. He was worried because you were happy not even a week before. And now you're the same person he saw at the house over the summer.

You're walking back to the Slytherin tower with Barty and Evan when James approached you three.
