Hometown is a small town in the middle of a golden forest, mainly inhabited by Monsters; being a race of various anthropomorphic, non-human species, such as the goat Dreemurr family that are home to the only human of the town. But besides that, one drooping house is home to some Monster relatives, quite unique in their personalities, but all sharing one thing!... being dead.

But first, this Light World is not the only one that can exist, something that can easily be remembered as earlier, a Dark Fountain had been created by a certain human that stabbed the earth in the "Flower King" flower shop, creating a whole Dark World inside it. Inanimate objects took on new anthromorphic forms, such as the owner's 7 most precious flowers, but one thing in particular was also caught in it. An... anime catgirl action figure of Mad Mew Mew?

The Darkner that took form seemed to quickly model themselves after the anime character, all about love and affection... but there was something more to them, they seemed weirdly bipolar in personality, like... something else was controlling them too. And soon, after their confrontation with the Heroes of Prophecy; Kris, Susie, and Ralsei, who attempted to seal the Dark Fountain, it would be realized: this Darkner was possessed by a ghostly Lightner, who wanted to keep the body.

...but luckly, they would eventually learn their lesson! Now, they get to share the body with the Darkner!... which can be a bit weird, seeing as they have completely opposite personalities, but it works!... except, without the Dark World, the Darkner would disappear, leaving just the Lightner to just have the small action figure to use in the Light World... BUT, the Heroes said they could stay at their Castle Town, where all Darkners can exist! So long as their object was brought!

...so, where was that action figure anyway? And... where the hell is Castle Town?!

You are an inhabitant of Hometown, living your usual life. The town was calm and without much happening, just the winds blowing and golden leaves scattering, as their trees surrounded the town completely to the brim.

With only a couple of buildings in the small town, you usually walked by the same "landmarks;" the Hospital, QC's Diner, the Cattenheimer's house, and eventually, that one droopy house. Seriously, it was like a tall house, but tilted to be drooping to the left.

Right before you reached the Flower King shop though, which was currently closed due to... reasons, you happened to notice something near the truck of the owner, Asgore. It was a pick-up truck, with various items on the back, except you noticed, somebody was going through them! Somebody... incorporeal?

Faintly transparent and with a ghostly tail at the bottom, a Monster has a... unique form. Cat ears, cat tail, big bells for earrings, almost straight out of anime, but with a more grayish-perwinkle palette, from their hair to their dress. It almost reminded you of a certain character...

They were frantically looking at the truck from every angle, even phasing through to check the inside...

Maddie: to herself, yet loudly Where is it?! Where is it?! WHERE THE HELL IS IT?! IT WAS RIGHT HERE!! hands on her ears Damn it all! Damn it all! DAMN IT ALL!! Where did that stupid sexy goat man put it?!? I'm only in this form right now so I can FIT IN THIS STUPID ACTION FIGURE!!

They seemed like quite an irritable ghost... something you would find out, as having looked at them for a second too long, they caught you gazing, in the truck's mirror.

Maddie: What the?!-

She appeared appalled for a moment, before gritting her teeth and growling... like a cat... which she technically wasn't... and actually wasn't trying to be seen as right now, which is why she tried to look when nobody else was out.

Maddie: Despicable! Despicable! DESPICABLE! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE LOOKING AT?! Haven't seen a ghost or something or WHAT?!
