You were in the Potions room along with three other students, Severus, Lockhart, and Bellatrix. Why Lockhart was here, you had no idea. Professor Slughorn chose you, Severus, and Bellatrix to each do a potion for extra credit in Potions, except you and Severus were both given the task to do Felix Felices and had to wait for Bellatrix and..Lockhart..to finish their potions first to go leave earlier and see the Fireworks since it was New Years Eve.

Felix Felices required more attention and diligent hands. It felt almost like a competition because you and Severus were top of the class in Advanced Potions, never failing a potion no matter how hard it was, but Felix Felices was something you both had never done, which is why Slughorn wants to see who'd finish first.

9:00PM–was when the time started to gather the materials, you had enough time to complete it yet it felt like a ticking time bomb was attached to your chest because of how difficult this potion was gonna be. Severus looked nervous as well but not as much, he looked like he knew what he was doing.

Five minutes before New Years.

You finished the potion first and called out to Professor Slughorn before Severus did, Slughorn walked to your station and dropped a leaf, seeing how perfect it was and praised you. Severus wasn't happy. He finished about 30 seconds before you and he too was praised.

Eventually, you two were let free and enjoy the sight of the Fireworks and the countdown outside. You went outside to look for your friends but saw that they were all with their partners, probably doing the New Years Kiss..

Severus saw his friends doing the same and he groaned in irritation before glancing at you and saw how you too were going under the same problem as him and hesitantly walked over to you.
