You and Eiji were home, waiting for Shorter and Ash to come back.
After successfully taking down banana fish, you and Eiji decided to stay in New York with Ash and Shorter, moving in with them. Ash's gang combined with Shorter's, both now keeping an eye on the New York streets, specifically Chinatown and downtown.
While living together, feelings bloomed and that's how this poly relationships came to be. There was much confusion from Ibe and Max, but support nonetheless.
The four of you spend your days working, and then coming home to each other. Eiji took up a job as I professional photographer, you're working on a book about everything you experienced, Shorter works at his family restaurant, and Ash working to become a child criminal justice lawyer.
Ash and Shorter aren't too much into the gang life anymore, mostly just keep the group as a whole in check, and that's a relief for both you and Eiji. You and him were hustling around the kitchen making dinner, chatting and giggling.
"When do you think they'll be home?" Eiji asks, tossing some cut up onions in the pot.
"Probably around ten? It depends on Ash really, though. He's been coming home super late. Law school is no joke." You say, sighing.
Eiji nods, a chuckle leaving his lips as he moves over behind you, placing his chin on your shoulder. "It isn't, but at least he's doing a good thing, right?"
You nod, taking his hand and snaking it around your waist, resting on your stomach. "Speaking of the devils," you say, looking over at him as the keys jingle outside the front door.
"η΄ ζ΄γγγ, they're finally home!" Eiji says with a smile as he goes back to chopping up veggies.
