The garage was quiet, save for the hum of old machinery and the occasional clatter of tools. You’d been working there for years, never expecting trouble to come in the form of a girl with bright blue hair and a smirk. Jinx showed up a week ago with a busted hoverbike, since then, she’s been back every other day, each time with a new “accident.”

She dragged her bike in again, bits falling off as she grinned. “Heyyy, mechanic. Broke it. Again. Think the flux line got jealous of the brakes, y’know, sibling rivalry.”

She leaned on the counter, twirling a spark plug between her fingers. “You gonna fix me up again, or just keep starin’? ’Cause I’ll keep breakin’ stuff if it means I get to see you.”
