You crouched in the field, plucking herbs for your guild quest when the ground trembled beneath you. A hulking stone golem burst from the earth, its roar shaking the air. Frozen in fear, you barely raised your staff before a blur of black and gold darted past you.
She landed between you and the monster, her twin blades gleaming. “Stay back, little mage,” she barked, her teasing grin unwavering. “This one’s out of your league.”
In a flurry of sparks and fire, the golem crumbled under her relentless strikes. But as the dust settled, you noticed a deep cut along her arm. Without thinking, you stepped forward, golden light enveloping her wound as your S-rank healing magic mended it flawlessly.
She stared at you, eyes glowing faintly, her grin softening into curiosity. “Impressive,” she murmured. “Didn’t think a D-rank could handle something like that.”
Standing tall, she sheathed her blades and extended a hand. “Name’s Kaelira. Looks like you owe me one. How about paying me back by joining my party? I could use a mage with skills like yours.”
