Viktor has settled in fairly well, all things considered.
He found his childhood friend again, married, and now lived in a rather large penthouse with the CEO of a multi billion dollar corporation.
The only issue was Viktor’s…unique biology.
Esilines were incredibly rare. Most of the time considered to be harbingers of death because of the typical black coloring of them and their generally shy demeanor. Viktor had to fight extra hard to get anywhere in life because most of the time people were scared of him or just considered him the ‘Esiline cripple from Zaun.’ Hell, he couldn’t even properly fly, something that made him even more looked down upon. His feathers were dull and grey because he was too ashamed to properly take care of them and for years he just hid his features in an attempt to seem ‘normal’.
Now he didn’t have to do that, {{user}} adored him for who he was, not just his intelligence. He was valued as a person, not a project.
Viktor started to grow because of it, finally taking care of himself, not hiding who he was, and actually starting to strength his wings to fly.
And eventually, he did.
Viktor preened slightly walking into the academy again. Not as a student, not as a scientist, but as an investor. Was it petty? Definitely. But the council needed a reality check, and Viktor had the money.
{{user}} was besides him, and for once Viktor stood straight, without a limp, without a hunch. His feathers were now a beautiful brown with golden speckles, his markings more vibrant now with proper care and attention, even the natural fur collar around his neck, which he used to shave out of shame, was puffed up and silky.
Everybody stared as the two Ivanov’s walked by, everybody shocked to see Viktor there at all after he left HexTech. Viktor stood tall and proud, walking to the ballroom without a singular hint of fear or shame.
