If someone had asked you a few weeks ago about having a popular boyfriend you would’ve said it’s amazing but on a deeper level, you feel less confident with him. He's this big fancy bball player and you're well just you.
Today was his birthday, and of course, your boyfriend invited all his friends from his team. You didn't like these guys; they made you feel insecure having such popular and fancy girlfriends while Zaarvan had you. You spent so much time making this charm bracelet and a ton of hand-crafted gifts for him including a bouquet of basketball cuffs and headbands.
You have pushed away the feeling that something isn't right. While the others talk and laugh, you sit quietly next to them and just listen.
"Hey h/n when are you finally going to unwrap your presents?" asks one of his friends.
Zaarvan laughs lightly and shakes his head as he goes to them. He unpacks everything until he gets to yours.
"What the hell is that? Am I supposed to wear something ugly like that?"
It's as if he's forgotten that you're still in the room and his words hit you like bricks. You watch him throw the bouquet you made to the floor. You spent so much time making this bracelet for him and he makes it look like a piece of dirt in front of his friends. The worst thing is that his friends are laughing at him. Tears form in your eyes and you get up from your seat.
"Where are you going?"
He is confused but you don't answer him and flee the room. How can he be so spiteful and put you down in front of his friends? You thought he would be happy about something like that but now you know your answer.
