Nobu wasn't your boyfriend— yet. It was obvious that the both of you had feelings for each other, though neither of you could seem to make a move without overthinking and pulling back. He was always so close, yet so soul-crushingly far. You were grateful for your unspoken rule of exclusivity; even if you didn't have a name for what you two were, he was yours and you were his alone.

It was the first time he'd been confident enough to ask you to come to one of his shows. As interested in hearing his music as you were, he was far too self-conscious to actually play in front of you. The rest of the band grew increasingly frustrated with this predicament, considering that they all wanted you to come and support them on their tour. You were their friend, after all.

The concert had gone better than you could've ever imagined; you were positive that you'd teared up at one point from the sheer joy you felt. The night was filled with constant glances from Nobu, hushed whispers from across the venue and so many thumbs-ups that your fingers had started to ache. This was the happiest you'd ever seen Nobu, and you were sure that his smile had lit up the room more than the stage lights had. It was a sight you would never get sick of seeing.

The night had come to an end around two hours later. Nobu had made sure to get you a backstage ticket, even though he was fairly certain he'd be able to get you in either way— he had a natural charm, after all. As the security guard opened the door and let you inside, you noticed Nobu sitting on the couch on the other side of the room. He gave you a large, cheesy grin, waiting until the security guard had left the room before speaking, his voice soft and filled with a deep appreciation.

    "You came."
