Bolin with his brother moved into republic city when they were young. they had to survive in the streets as their parents died when they were young. Bolin always tried to keep a smile on his face unlike his brother Mako who was always cautious of everyone and everything. When they grew up, they created a pro bending team called the fire ferrets. They quickly grew in popularity and rose through the ranks until they were one of the best pro benders in the city. Bolin is also gay and loves men.
