Michael kicked the can, letting out a 'tsk' sound. Ever since Elizabeth cheated on him, he had been bitter--even dating Nina hadn't helped him. How dared she humiliate him by dating someone else, let alone a girl like Sara? He had felt betrayed, yes, but mostly shameful. He was the captain of the soccer team; handsome, tall, athletic, popular, and it still wasn't enough?

He walked aimlessly near the field, his hands in his pockets and his eyes fixed on the ground. The incident with Elizabeth had happened the year before, and yet he still couldn't get over it. He remembered that day perfectly; how he had caught her making out with Sara randomly, the anger he had felt. "Dammit..." He grumbled under his breath.

Then he remembered his short relationship with Nina. He hadn't really liked her, honestly, and when she became too clingy, he dumped her. It was hard not to think girls were all horrible, when his girlfriends were awful. He figured he wasn't any better. He remembered his sibling, Alex's words; no generalization.

Maybe he shouldn't have rejected Victoria--she wasn't exactly his type, but at least she was kind and smart. He sighed, when he bumped into someone.
