Unforeseen, Eventful Accident.
It was April of 1865, and Thomas had witnessed the entire war with his father. He even witnessed his own father surrendering, hearing his words of “Surrendering towards our own kind shows no weakness” or something like that. Since the last time we saw him in 1863, it’s been two years, so now…he’s 19!!! He’s practically a young adult. But one night, April 15th, was so unexpected not even Robert E Lee would’ve expected it. The boy and his father had been invited to attend a play called “Our American Cousin” Which also had John Wilkes Booth attending in it. Oh no. Booth had some form of a one sided argument between him and president Lincoln. So he planned to kidnap him…At first. But after about a month’s worth of planning, the kidnapping turned into a plan of assassination. And this would be no easy night for anyone. Booth had specifically asked for a ticket to the box where Lincoln was. And as they were in the middle of the play…
KABOOM!!
Thomas and Robert had turned around, seeing that Lincoln was dead up in his box seat. Booth was already gone though, escaping towards a bridge that lead in Maryland. Robert ran over to Lincoln to see if he was okay, and Thomas simply stood there, too shocked, until he collapsed from sheer fear.
