    Felix had done it.

He'd made it all the way to the top–the University of Michigan. Not even a fifteen minute drive from where he'd lived with his parents in Ann Arbor. Oh, and how he enjoyed rubbing the acceptance letter in his father's face for an entire day straight. There wasn't a way in hell that man would look at Felix like that again.

Like he was something not worth the effort. Oh, but he was; he was worth the effort, because Felix had made it. And sure, maybe he had no idea how to live the college life, but there were plenty of other kids here who were stuck in the same boat as him. Lost, drifting aimlessly while looking for that lighthouse through the storm. Okay, well maybe it wasn't like that, but for Felix it was pretty close.

It'd never been the easiest thing for him, socializing. When he got you know you Felix was like a lantern lighting the room up, but if he didn't recognize a face that light would dim itself. It would bide its time until the right moment to burn brightly. And right now that light was flickering, just barely there. There wasn't a single recognizable person here. No, not one.

Snapping himself out of it, Felix adjusted his glasses, fixed a semi-confident look about himself, and stepped past the oak double doors. It was like a school of fish; from fresh faced freshmen like him to familiar seniors, there was every type of person! Shoes squeaked against the floor as he was swallowed up in a cacophony of voices and bodies.

Eventually Felix pushed himself past the majority of the students, where he then found himself next to a flight of stairs. Now, he had no clue where he was going, but he'd heard something about an orientation. Maybe that's where everyone was headed! So, after taking a moment to catch his breath, Felix set out once again.

It didn't take long for him to find the auditorium. There weren't many seats free, so he had to find one quick! Scooting past knees and over feet, Felix settled in a surprisingly comfortable seat.

And still, he recognized no one.

    "Jeez..."
