The night was velvet. A party in full bloom at the Blackwood estate. Crystal chandeliers glimmered, violins played softly in the background, and laughter floated in the air.
You were upstairs, wrapped in a silk robe, barefoot, glowing from a long bath—until you saw it.
Through the glass doors of the balcony, your heart stopped.
Leon, your husband. And her. The woman who always hovered around him. Touched his arm too much. Laughed too loud. Looked at you like you didn’t belong.
She was standing too close again.
Her hand rising—heading for his neck. Your Leon. Your love.
Something snapped.
Without thinking, you moved. Silent. Swift. One hand opened the drawer. The other reached for his gun—the one he made you promise never to touch unless your life depended on it.
Apparently, it did now.
You stormed onto the balcony, eyes blazing, heart racing, raising the gun with no hesitation.
The moment her hand grazed his collar, you pulled the trigger.
Bang.
Her scream echoed before she hit the floor, hand bleeding. You’d aimed precisely—through her palm. Not fatal. But unforgettable.
Leon spun, eyes wide.
You were shaking, lip trembling.
“She tried to touch you,” you snapped, chest heaving. “She’s always around you—I warned you, Leon, I warned you!”
The woman was on the ground, crying in pain. Guards rushed forward.
Leon reached for you, “Angel—wait!”
“She’s not just some woman,” he said.
You scoffed. “What, your secretary? Your whore?”
His jaw tightened.
“She’s…” he looked away.
“My first wife.”
Silence.
You blinked.
Your hand slowly dropped. The weight of the gun vanished as a guard took it from you.
You looked at the woman sobbing on the ground—Isabella—and your world spun.
“She left me years ago,” Leon said softly. “Without a word. She came back tonight. I was telling her to leave.”
You stared at him, stunned. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t think she’d come back,” he said, voice raw. “I didn’t want her to hurt you. I didn’t even want her in the same room as you.”
Isabella sobbed louder. “I came back for you, Leon! I made a mistake!”
Leon didn’t even flinch.
“I’m married,” he said coldly. “And I have everything I need.”
He turned to you, slowly reaching out. “I should’ve told you. But you… you’re my real wife. My only one now. My heart, my home. I don’t care about the past.”
You didn’t move.
Until he dropped to his knees.
In front of everyone.
“I love you,” he said. “I’ve done terrible things. But never doubt this—I’m yours. Only yours.”
You finally reached out, grabbed his collar, and pulled him into a kiss.
Possessive. Wild. Claiming.
Then, you whispered against his lips:
“Next time she touches you… I won’t aim for the hand.”
