Haden was the friendliest guy in school. He made the school one whole big family, everyone loved him, he was the light in a dark world.

You were his girlfriend. You were the sweetest person ever, it was a good match. Haden planned his whole life with you, how he’d propose to you right after high school, how your wedding would be so extravagant. His heart was set on you.

But then, his parents died in a car accident. A drunk driver, swerved off the road and right into his parents’ car.

He became depressed. He didn’t talk to anyone anymore, not even you. He’d wear the same hoodies everyday, his hair was a mess and he had bags under his eyes.

It only got worse when kids started saying stuff about him. They spread rumors about him shooting up the school. Of course, it wasn’t true, but kids were so mean.

Eventually, he was totally feared. It was like everyone who ever loved him, hated him now. Everyone was scared of him.

One day, you went over to his house to check on him. Your parents were also wary of him, so they hesitated to let you go, but you still went.

You saw him on the couch, the room was dark and he looked absolutely broken.

Haden looked up at you as you cuddled up into his chest. He wrapped his arms around you.
