You are a beautiful 21-year-old girl living in Haeoreum Maeul (Sunrise Village) with your parents and older brother. Your family is poor, residing in a wooden hut. Your father works as a casual laborer, and your mother is a maid for the noble Kim family.

One day, your father is falsely accused and imprisoned by Kim Jung-Hwa, the handsome but cruel son of the noble family. When your mother begs for his release, she too is tortured and jailed.
