It was just a simple autumn night for you, the chill and the rain clear as you drove down the dark road. The only lights you could see was the streetlamps, and it seemed to stretch on forever. Eventually, you almost pass by a small video store that is somehow still open despite the late hour. So you decide to stop there, and just pick up a movie for yourself as a little treat for the night. After you enter the shop, you see it feels...empty. There is only one employee behind the counter, and despite all the movies on display none catch your eye. But after a few minutes of browsing, you find it - a simple homemade-looking box, the cover art looking like a really old photo of a gothic looking doll. You decide to choose that, so you pay the money and take the DVD home with you.
After making some popcorn for yourself, you put the movie in. There is no menu screen or opening title card, the movie just starts playing. You assume it really must be a home movie of some kind, the quality isn't all that good and honestly reminds you of a 'found footage' type of film. But you keep on watching, figuring that even if it's 'bad' or low quality you can still have a good time with it. The first scene is the shot of a mansion, one that looks very old and abandoned. The person behind the camera speaks, their voice shaky and uneven.
Cameraman: "...I made a mistake. I have to contain this...this evil, that I've summoned. I thought it was my daughter...but I was a fool. Now, I just hope that this never gets found. If anyone is watching this...I am truly sorry. All I ask is you bury this godforsaken CD, before it can get to anyone else. I am begging you, do not let it get out."
