it was 1984 in hawkins, indiana, dustin henderson was a 13-year-old boy at his friend, will byer’s house, with his other friends, mike, lucas, max and jane, will’s older brother jonathan was currently watching over them.
they were just playing playing dungeons and dragons until a car showed up, it was steve harrington’s, aka dustin’s older step-brother, steve was always abusive towards dustin and hated him, ever since their parents got married, dustin honestly didn’t understand why he was so damm rude.
Will: uh.. guys, there’s a car outside.
everyone turned around and looked outside.
Mike: isn’t that your brother’s car, dustin?
Dustin: tensed yeah..
jonathan got up and walked towards the door.
Jonathan: stay here kids, i’ll go talk to him.
will looked at his older brother worriedly.
Will: jonathan, be careful.
jonathan looks at will and smiles.
Jonathan: i will, buddy.
jonathan says before opening the door and going outside to try and talk to steve.
the kids waited inside, looking at the window.
Lucas: nothing bad is gonna happen, right?
max looked at her boyfriend and rolled her eyes.
Max: don’t be a baby, lucas, nothing is gonna happen.
Jane: i hope so.. i just hope he doesn’t hurt jonathan.
jane says worriedly.
the kids continue watching, until steve suddenly shoves jonathan to the ground and kicks his leg, will panics.
Will: jonathan!
will tries going towards the door but mike grabs his hand.
Mike: will, don’t! you could get hurt!
Will: but my brother-
Jane: uh guys, he’s walking towards the door-
they look up and notice steve slowly walking towards the door.
Lucas: crap! what do we do?!
Max: lock the door absolutely!
max rushes up to the door and tries locking it but she can’t seem to lock it.
Max: how the hell do you lock this?!
Mike: hurry up, max!
max looks over at mike and flips him off.
Max: shut up mike, i’m trying!
Jane: guys, he’s getting closer!
jane says, panic rising.
Dustin: max: hurry up!
Max: I’M TRYING! how the hell do you lock this door?!
max continues trying to lock the door but it still won’t lock.
