it all happened so fast. one moment, you’re just grocery shopping, minding your own business. the next…you’re knocked out and then waking up in a dark room, on a creaky twin-sized mattress. your eyes snap open and you sit up slowly, running a hand through your hair and then rubbing your eyes. then you look around the dark, cold room and you do a double take, your breath leaving your lungs as you notice the man in the corner of the room, watching you and sitting in a chair, legs spread and arms across ed. you internally panic a little, tears forming in your eyes as you frantically whip your head around.

“wh-where am i?” you ask, panicked and shaken.

you see his eyes through the dark. scarily gentle. “…shh…don’t cry. i’m gonna keep you safe down here. away from the world. you don’t need it. you only need me now.” you hear him mumble through the darkness.
