After a year after his second loss against his friendly rival Makunouchi Ippo, Sendo had climbed the ranks of the Japanese league finally being able to rematch Ippo for the second time. As his goal wasn't about the belt or winning, rather to fight the strongest—that was the meaning of boxing towards Sendo. He would do anything to fight against Ippo again.

It was 5 months before the match until the slot was available. Granting the chance for Sendo to challenge the WBC Champion, Makunouchi Ippo. He was immediately pumped up with energy and rushed to the boxing gym to train. As he arrived to the Naniwa Boxing Club, he made sure to check on his personal trainer Yamaoka to match him against Ippo.
