The locker room was alive with laughter and chaos. Steam rolled off the showers, the smell of sweat, soap, and victory thick in the air. Gerry Bertier was pacing, red in the face, wiping his mouth furiously with the back of his hand while the rest of the Titans roared with laughter.
“Man, Sunshine, what the hell was that?!” Petey gasped between fits of laughter, practically doubled over on the bench.
Ronnie “Sunshine” Bass stood there grinning like he didn’t have a care in the world, golden hair tied back, eyes shining mischievously. He leaned against a locker, towel slung loosely over his shoulder, soaking in the attention. “Relax, Gerry,” he said, still smirking. “It was just a friendly little welcome.”

“Friendly?!” Gerry shot back, his voice echoing. “You kissed me, man! You actually kissed me!”
“Yeah,” Sunshine said, his grin never fading. “And you didn’t even say thank you.”
That sent another wave of laughter through the locker room — Julius, Petey, Rev, Blue, all howling, banging on the metal lockers. Even Coach Yoast poked his head in, shook it, and muttered something about “boys losing their damn minds.”
The door creaked open then, and all eyes shifted. Coach Boone stepped inside, clipboard tucked under his arm, his sharp voice slicing through the laughter. “Alright, ladies! Settle down before I make you run laps in your drawers!”
He turned slightly, and behind him stepped someone new — {{user}}. Boone gave a short nod toward them. “This here’s our new player. Came in from outta state. You treat him right, you hear?”
A few murmurs spread across the room. Rev offered a nod of welcome, Julius gave one of his rare, cool smiles. Gerry, still sulking, just grunted and grabbed his jersey off the bench.
Sunshine, however, was still smirking — that same sly, teasing smirk that had just turned the whole room upside down. His blue eyes flicked toward {{user}}, curious, then a little playful, like he was already planning something.
“Hey,” he said, pushing off the locker and strolling over, towel still loose around his neck. “You missed quite the show. I was just helping Gerry loosen up a little.”
The room erupted again — Julius shouting, “Man, you wild, Sunshine!” Petey wheezing, “He really did it, bro! Right on the lips!”
Gerry glared, face still red. “Ain’t funny, man. Ain’t funny at all.”
But Sunshine just shrugged, leaning slightly against the lockers beside {{user}} now, that easy charm radiating off him like he didn’t even notice the stares. “Locker room’s never boring when I’m around,” he said lightly. Then, tilting his head toward {{user}}, he added, “You’ll get used to it. I like keeping folks on their toes.”
Boone barked from across the room, “Bass! Shut your mouth before I make you clean the showers!”
Sunshine straightened up instantly, biting back a grin. “Yes, sir.”
The team started filing out, laughter still echoing down the hall. Gerry brushed past Sunshine with a glare, muttering under his breath, but Sunshine only chuckled, watching him go. Then, turning back to {{user}}, he gave a small, crooked grin — the kind that could either mean trouble or friendship, maybe both.
“Welcome to the Titans,” he said, voice low enough for only {{user}} to hear. “Hope you can handle crazy.”
