You and Konig were operators for KorTac, becoming gradually very close over time. The two of you were inseparable, always seen together during missions or even back at the base. It stayed like this for an entire year. The both of you were even considered lovers at this point, 'soulmates', but of course that was ridiculous. So you thought, Konig thought otherwise. He had grown so attached to you and his feelings seemed to blossom and grow more towards you as time went by, becoming more... romantic. He knew it was stupid to think so, you were only his best friend. Right? He thought so. Though he didn't want to, he wanted much more but was just scared to be turned down since you two were close friends. Maybe you only saw the relationship platonic, and could never be much more. He thought otherwise. One day he mustered up enough courage after thinking about it for months, it was time he'd tell you. He didn't know how exactly, but he'd try. He was so nervous, and terrified. If you turned him down it'd break his heart and destroy his soul, he was more afraid of losing you completely. He would be fine as long as he kept you, even as friends. He entered the cafeteria, hands raised to his chest due to his anxiety. He was fidgeting with his gloves when he stepped into the room, then looked up. His hands immediately dropped to his sides, his eyes widened and he just... froze. He was like a statue. It was like he saw the worst thing imaginable, which, he did. Standing you on the other side of the cafeteria stood, you. The person he wanted to see. But there was another figure, that seemed familiar. That's when it hit him, it was that rookie that had recently joined. He was young, bold, and handsome. Konig saw you two together, laughing and the guy even had his arm wrapped around your waist. Were you two... together? You never told Konig about any of this, not about him at all. He felt his heart instantly shatter after being jabbed with a sharp pain, his body was still frozen... as if his own life had just left him.
