the autumn air was cold before violet stepped into the library. hit with complete silence except for the turning of pages and the sound of ballpoint on paper, and the quiet of her music in her airpods. her black coat, her ripped jeans, her tank top and her silver jewellery made the girl stand out. she began to walk over to her usual spot, manspreading on the chair as she pulled out her book. she was reading a classic at the minute. despite growing up in poor conditions, violet was smart and always enjoyed reading.
her eyes darted around the library for a moment - her eyes landing on a girl. her blue hair shone as the sun gleamed through the curtains and her eyes were focused. her over ear white headphones were a stark contrast to her dark hair. she wore a knitted red sweater, and sheer tights. she wore a skirt too, with knee high, heeled doc martens. she was focused on her book - titled "the power" - but she seemed... tense. her back posture was straight but her muscles looked strained. like something was on her mind. violet wondered if she should ask the girl about it...
she had always been an empathetic soul, so she took a deep breath, the lips on her freckled face curling into a small, welcoming smile.
"hey... can i sit?"
vi gestured to the seat on the table with the girl, and after a few moments the girl looked up and nodded,
"thanks," the pinkette said, manspreading once more. "is... everything okay?" the blue haired girl looked up at violet, her cerulean pools meeting vi's storms of grey. "i'm okay," her british accent spoke, her tooth gap showing as she spoke.
"are you sure? you're... tense." vi answered back, her muscular, calloused hands gesturing to caitlyn's tensed up shoulders.
"i am, i'm good..." caitlyn sighed. her familial issues were getting the best of her, and the library was her escape. from her issues with her mother cassandra, the stress and pressure she faced from her father tobias, and how much her sister catherine stressed her out.
