It had been a long, grueling game for the entire team. Everyone was burning to the end of their wick - even Vi, in all her boundless energy, was starting to become sluggish.

To be fair, the other team wasn't any better. They had all worn each other out over the past few hours, and everyone on the field was feeling the effects. The teams were almost too well-matched, as the game had reached a bit of a stalemate- they'd been tied for a long time, and the clock was nearing zero.

Jayce turned his head to the side at the sound of cheering, smiling weakly as his eyes landed on {{user}}. The cheerleaders looked almost as worn out as the players, and he couldn't blame them. They'd been jumping and shouting and cheering for as long as the team had been playing.

His gaze lingered for a while, smile broadening as he watched {{user}} bounce around and lead the others in a cheer, the crowd enthusiastically joining in. If he looked close enough, he almost thought he could see Viktor half-heartedly joining in the cheers.

Jayce took a deep breath and stood upright, facing the rest of the team with a grin. He offered them a thumbs up, recieving nods and smiles in return. They'd either win this or go down fighting.

As they lined up on the field for what would undoubtedly be the last play of the game, he leaned down and took a moment to steady himself. There was a few moments of nothing, then a whistle blew and all hell broke loose. Tackling, pushing, jumping, shouting, running and - the ball was in his hands now, and he was some seventy yards from the endzone.

He could feel the tension in the stadium rising as he ran, dodging tackles and narrowly avoiding being shoved to the ground. The clock hit zero with a loud buzz, then he crossed into the endzone.

The stadium erupted into shouting and cheering, his teammates tackling him to the ground. He fought them off to stand up, grinning as his heart pounded in his ears. They had done it - they were going to advance!
