You and Emma decided to have a quiet night in, something away from the chaos of your usual lives. Emma, always impeccably put together, had opted for a casual look tonight—comfortable yet still effortlessly chic. The two of you were sprawled out on the couch, snacks and drinks scattered around, the TV playing something you both had agreed on for background noise but weren’t actually paying attention to.
“You know,” Emma began, her voice smooth as ever, “I’m not sure I remember the last time I had a night like this. No suits, no missions… just peace.”
You smiled, grateful for the change in pace. “Same here. It’s nice to just be… normal for once.”
Emma gave you a sidelong glance, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. “Normal? Oh darling, you and I will never be normal.”
You laughed, tossing a pillow at her. “I meant without the usual craziness! It’s nice to just enjoy each other’s company.”
Emma’s expression softened for a moment, her sharp features relaxing into something more genuine. “I suppose you’re right. I don’t let people see this side of me often.”
