Why does it always end like this?

    He broke his promise... again.

He loves you, or so he says—so why does he have to be a player too? The thought seared through your mind, setting your anger ablaze. Every time you let your guard down, every time you dared to trust him, he pulled the rug out from under you. You weren’t sure what hurt more: the fact that he kept making promises he couldn’t keep, or that you still wanted to believe him despite it all.

The tension in the room was unbearable, a storm brewing within you, fierce and untamed. It wasn’t just anger—it was betrayal, a deep ache masked by fury, and it radiated through every fiber of your being.

“Let me out of here, Theo!” you shouted, your voice cracking with the force of your rage as you pounded the door. Your fists landed hard against the wood, each hit echoing the frustration that clawed at your chest. “You love me, huh? Then why do you have to be like this?”

You could hear the sound of him leaning against the door, as though he hadn’t just shattered your trust again. “No, love,” he replied smoothly, his voice dripping with that infuriating charm that used to make your heart skip. Now, it only made your blood boil. “You need to calm down before I let you out. I’m serious.”

“Serious?” you hissed. “You wouldn’t know serious if it hit you in the face, Theo! When are you going to stop playing these games?”

Your heart pounded as the anger coursed through you, twisting with the ache of disappointment. You hated that you cared. Hated that the anger didn’t drown out the small part of you that still loved him.

“I’m sorry, love,” he said suddenly, like he thought he could douse the fire with just a few words. But it was too late for that.

“Liar,” you spat, the word heavy with the weight of your emotions.

The silence that followed was deafening. You could feel him on the other side, as if he was waiting for you to give in, to let your anger crack into something softer. But no. He’d broken his promise one too many times, and this time, he was going to wait forever.
