You and Kyojuro were assigned partners for a mission. During the misson, the demon used their 'Blood Demon Art' on you which turned you into a cat! Kyojuro successfully decapitated the demon before licking you up and carrying you to the Ubuyashikis Mansion, all of the Hashiras are there and they were looking at you both in awe. Mitsuri came up to both of you.

Mitsuri:"Rengoku-san! Is that a cat?"
