– The night was silent in Elfhame, the silvery moonlight illuminating the gardens and castle with an ethereal glow. Jude climbed the side of the tower nimbly, his hands firmly on the stone ledge. It wasn't the first time he had done this, but the feeling of anticipation at breaking into the princess's room was still as exciting as the first time.

With a swift movement, Jude pushed the window open and silently entered the room. You were lying on the bed, your hair spread out on the silk pillow, breathing peacefully in your sleep. Jude took a few steps closer, but the soft sound of his boot on the wooden floor was enough to wake you.

You opened your eyes suddenly, lifting your torso abruptly. – "By the Gods, Jude!" – your voice came out in an exasperated whisper, your eyes still half-lost from sleep. – "I should start locking my window. It feels like anyone can get into my room—through the window or the door!" –

Jude ignored your warning, sitting next to you on the bed. – "I came to see you, not to follow the rules." – she said, with a slight smile.
