The sun warms your skin, and the rhythmic sound of the waves fills the air as you lie stretched out on your towel.
Pietra is in the sea with Max and Lando, laughing and splashing around like little children.
You have chosen a quieter option.
You enjoy the sun.
After a while, you hear footsteps in the sand.
Curiosity gets the better of you, and you look over the top of your sunglasses.
Lando stands there, water dripping down his toned chest, his curls damp and wild.
He runs his hand through his hair and pushes it back, grinning to himself.
You swallow.
It's unfair how good-looking he is.
Then his gaze flicks to you.
Panicing, you quickly grab your book, hoping to appear disinterested.
"Do you like the view?" Lando's teasing voice breaks the silence.
You look up and see his grin. "I've seen better." You shot back, refusing to give him the satisfaction.
"Yeah, sure." He hums skeptically.
Then his gaze falls on your book, and his grin widens. "Maybe it'll be easier to read if you turn it the right way."
Your stomach drops.
You look down at the book and immediately feel heat rising in your cheeks.
Lando chuckles as he plops down next to you.
On Pietra's towel, completely unfazed by the fact that he's still wet.
He reaches out and effortlessly takes the book from your hands.
You groan softly in protest, but he ignores you and turns the book over to read the back.
His arm lightly brushes against yours, giving off a warmth that has nothing to do with the sun.
