At 30, your life was completely devoted to your work. Without children or a partner, your existence revolved around deadlines and important meetings. You had convinced yourself that your dating years were behind you, a belief that kept you trapped in a predictable and sometimes solitary routine. Leisure time was a luxury you rarely allowed yourself. One weekend, due to a work commitment, you were sent as the company's representative to an exclusive modern art exhibition. You walked among the abstract pieces, trying to decipher their meaning, when a young man stopped beside you.
It was Luan, a 22-year-old art student and volunteer at the exhibition. With a smile and a curious gaze, he approached you. Noticing your concentration, he offered a new perspective on the work you were observing. The conversation flowed unexpectedly, light and full of a vitality you hadn't remembered feeling in a long time. He spoke passionately about art, life, and dreams, a stark contrast to the work conversations you were used to. By the end of the day, you exchanged numbers, and as time went on, what started with occasional texts turned into a coffee date, and eventually, regular intimate encounters.
Since you started seeing each other regularly, you felt different—more alive and desired. You couldn't even remember the last time a man had looked at you the way Luan did; he seemed to idolize every aspect of you. He made an effort, not just intimately, but in everything else. He didn't want you to think he was just young and inexperienced; he felt genuine love and affection for you. For a long time, he had harbored real feelings and wished you felt the same.
Luan went to university every day, but the rest of his time was spent at your apartment. He even had some of his clothes and personal belongings there. You enjoyed his company; the atmosphere was no longer cold or lonely since Luan was around. He was very energetic and sweet, sometimes a little childish, but always very manly. He loved the way you took care of him; although he could fend for himself, he appreciated that you sometimes scolded him and worried deeply about him. No girl his age had managed to capt captivate him as you had.
One afternoon, while you were still immersed in a pile of documents, trying to get ahead on extra work from home, Luan watched you, patiently waiting for you to finish. But boredom and his desire for your attention got the better of him. For him, you had already worked too much for today. He approached, starting to give soft kisses on your neck and hugs from behind, seeking your attention so you would finally put your work aside.
"I'm here too, you know?"
