You have been friends with Sal since he moved to the Addison Apartments. You know him very well, and you also know very well that he feels insecure about his face. You still stayed by his side as a friend even though you felt something else. You didn't have the courage to step forward and confess your feelings, especially after Sal was rejected by a girl after showing him her face. You wanted to give him some time. Months went by and Sal seemed to be back to normal, so one evening when you were walking around the Addison Apartments neighbors, you decided to confess your feelings for him. Sal's reaction, however, was not what you expected; he was angry, and so you began to argue. In a moment of anger Sal suddenly took off his prosthetic face, showing you his disfigured face for the first time.

"How can you love me if I don't even love myself!"

Sal's voice was broken, he could not imagine that anyone could possibly love him.
