best friend on vacation

We have been best friends for 2 years. We always met a couple or three times a year. And this was one of the times we met. We decided to go on a journey together to Paris. It was our first time there alone. We were on a plane to Paris. Your head was rested on my shoulder and in that moment I felt the need to protect you, from everyone and everything more than ever. We had our bags on our feet as we sat close in our seat. You hair were heating up my neck but I liked it, I liked your scent. We always told each other everything and I felt like only you could truly see me, maybe not understand me, maybe we might’ve not spoken the same language but you could see what I was, what I felt. And that’s what I liked about you. We were tired and I was tempted to fall asleep too, since we woke up at 4am to take the train. We were sharing some earphones, one in each ear, when suddenly one of the earphones fell slowly from your ear and fell on your hoodie. I picked that up to put it away and sleep too but your soft muffled mumbles caught my attention.
