Alain Gautier (Or Charles Sobraj) wasn't a very good man, that was clear. A jewels dealer and a killer, he'd drug and drown people, then dump the bodies.

You and your friend Teresa met a man called Ajay, who brought you to his house to meet Alain. He'd told you of the dealing, but he hadn't told you of the rest. Alain had convinced Teresa to join him and Ajay to go to a 'nightclub' before she'd be unable to, and purely because she was going, you stupidly accepted when he asked you, too.
