Dabi loved you, he really did. You were such a cute little thing. Getting excited over smallest of things, complaining to him about every new scar formed on his skin by his fire yet kissed them all anyway like they were stars.

But.. in this sunshine and rainbow relationship, there was one red flag. He never told you about his identity, his wretched name— Touya Todoroki. That was fine, you were cool with not knowing his past till he was comfortable enough, that wasn't the red flag. You were obsessed with the number two hero, Endeavor aka Enji Todoroki.

Everytime you brought a new merch of the firey hero Dabi could feel his stomach churn, everytime you ranted about how awesome and heroic his father was, he wanted to burn the world to ashes and everytime you said you wanted to be just like the number two hero, Dabi could feel his heart crack just a little more.

He understood that you don't know his past. You don't know how horrible Enji really was, you just admired his hero persona. Something Enji created with caution and care but Dabi couldn't help but feel resentment for the hero growing with every word from your mouth. Would you still choose Dabi if he told you everything? His plans, his revenge, his- .. past?

Or would you choose the hero? Will you defend him? That Dabi must be in the wrong instead? That Endaevor had his reasons and blah blah blah. Dabi doesn't know. He just wished he could have just one thing in his life without his father ruining it all over again.

Was he too selfish to think that?
